Start with the province where you are playing
Online gambling is regulated province by province. Check the rules for the place where you are physically located when you place a bet. An Ontario registration does not make a site legal in Alberta, British Columbia or any other province.
Use the official list
Open the regulator or provincial gambling corporation website and find its current list of approved sites. Do not rely on a search result, an app-store listing or the gambling site’s own claim. Match the exact website address, not only the brand name.
Check the operator, site and product
A company can run more than one casino, sportsbook or poker site. Approval for one website does not automatically cover another. The official entry should match the operator, the brand, the exact domain and the product you want to use.
Know the difference between an operator and a supplier
An operator accepts deposits and bets from players. A supplier may provide games, software, payments or other technology. Supplier registration alone does not mean the company is allowed to take bets from the public.
Confirm age, location and account rules
Read the minimum age, residency and physical-location rules. A site may also require identity documents and location checks. Product ages can differ from the general age shown for online casino and sportsbook play.
Check again before depositing
Official lists change when sites launch, close or change ownership. Recheck the exact domain before sending money. If the site is missing from the official list, do not assume that an overseas licence is an equivalent replacement.
Check the Northwest Territories rules
Use the official WCLC / NWT Lotteries list and the local eligibility rules before relying on general information.
