What the rule covers
AGCO Standard 2.05 restricts public advertising and marketing that communicates gambling inducements, bonuses or credits. That includes public-facing bonus amounts, promo codes, free-spin offers and comparisons built around an offer.
Where an operator may communicate an offer
The standard allows limited communication on an operator’s own gambling site and through direct advertising or marketing after a player has consented. Those exceptions do not give an affiliate or public information site permission to republish the offer.
Why this site does not list promotions
The House Edge does not publish bonus amounts, promo codes, wagering offers or inducement rankings on Ontario pages. Regulated status, products, banking information, rules and player protection remain useful without advertising a promotion.
What to watch for
Treat “guaranteed,” “risk-free” and “free money” language carefully. Read the operator’s complete terms inside the authorized site. A promotion does not change the house edge, and a time limit can encourage faster play.
Advertising rules are broader than bonuses
Ontario standards also address misleading claims, marketing to minors, high-risk players and the use of athletes or celebrities. This guide is a practical overview, not legal advice or a certification that any advertisement complies.
How to verify the current rule
Use the current AGCO Registrar’s Standards for Internet Gaming and AGCO advertising guidance. Standards can change, so the official version controls if it differs from a summary on this site.
